According the BBC web, Andy Robinson has had his last game as England coach. As a non-English rugby fan I can't say I'm in the least surprised. The question is, who will replace the hapless Mr Robinson?

last day tomorrow..how many hours do you reckon they will hold on for? I'm guessing 3. McGrath will lay into them, then Warne will mop them up

I'm not sure I'd even give them 3 hours: the tail can wag, but not that strongly.

Hi U
Ahem fellers, I thought this post was about Rugby not cricket, please leave the cricket, I'm only just coming to terms with our Rugby team's demise.....rolls eyes and bangs head on study wall.....I simply can't countenance the humiliation of our cricket team.......
Clears throat and recomposes himself..
I think we came up with some good candidates in our private chat a few days ago U. Your favorite Richard Hill of 'Bris' sounds good to me, with one of my favorites 'Deano' of 'Quins' to knock the forwards into shape. We need the experience and proven authority that these men have to inspire and motivate the team. I think we have some good players, but they aren't delivering and some of the others behave like idiots under pressure too often to be tolerated.
But you're still involved to some degree in the game aren't you U? Let's hear what you think. I'm out of touch.

As was mentioned the other day, it's all a bit sad where England is concerned right now: can't play cricket, can't play football, can't play rugby - thank godness for tiddlywinks!

(only joking - honest)
I'm not really involved anymore either although I still have a finger in the odd pie. I suspect whoever gets the poison chalice will have to take on the rest of the coaching set-up, so could be in a really difficult position from the off. I just hope whoever it is makes a better fist of things than AR.

I could not believe they lost again and to RSA tut tut!
Still we did not do ourselves any favours against the All Blacks - ah well there is always next time

It was a pretty dismal display in London from the World Champions wasn't it? Totally different kettle of rabbits in Cardiff the World Champions Elect though.

Can you really blame the coach for the fact England don't have one decent player?

If it were true and if he selected them yes. But I doubt it's quite that simple, do you?

Truth is of course that if any team performs poorly it's the coaches fault, a simple fact of life I'm afraid.

Maybe we should employ a New Zealand coach?

Nah, we tried that down here. Trained 'em up and sent 'em home and look what we turned loose on the world!

Although I'm not into Rugby that heavily although I do have the occasional glance at the Newcastle Falcons. In football it often happens that when a new manager is appointed the team goes on a winning run (with the same players) I hope it's true for the England Rugby Team.

Well we'll just have to wait and see. They have the talent as individuals, so why not?

England is trying to steal the current number one coach fom NZ - Gatland - but the NZRU have plenty of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to keep him here as our next ALL Black Coach.
You may not be aware that it was Gatland who set Ireland on the way to now be number two in the world. He is an ex All Black hooker and coaches our local provincial team ( Waikato) taking us to Number One in NZ this last season - he just blew away Canterbury - Auckland - Wellington - Otago.... etc.
Wondering if you would want another Kiwi ? - that reminds me that your last World Cup Captain is a New Zealander. Some reckon that the next World Cup Captain will be a Kiwi too - only time will tell. -

Somehow I can't see Warren Gatland wanting to be part of the England set-up, unless there's a radical rethink of the structure at least.
NZ have done pretty well over the last few years, having employed coaching staff who cut their teeth internationally in Wales. Should Gatland go to England, maybe it'll be a route for him to replace Henry or Hansen? -

I believe that at long last he has gone. Please confirm or otherwise.

Indeed he has, but not before being pushed. Some people simply don't know when to give in, so the RFU gave Andy the Bum's Rush.

lets not ask the England cricket coach shall we...
