    I think our geordie blogger pal layreader has the edge on you there. Have you actually seen 'The Angel Of The North'? I wasn't sure what I thought of it when I first saw it on the TV, but when you see it in the flesh, so to speak, I think it is quite magnificent, beautiful even, and I wouldn't have thought I would have ever said such a thing.
    
    Regarding your new photo. Forgive me if I'm being rude, but when you say 'Precilla' would possibly mean 'Priscilla'? I know some things are spelt differently in Welsh.
    
    I'm thinking in terms of Priscilla Lydia Sellon. A Welsh woman of some repute who amongst other things, founded a naval college. Now I wonder.... would a certain young man with the initials JP have enrolled at said establishment?

      SWMBO originated in that little Tyneside town, North Shields and reminds the rest of us from time-to-time she's a proper Geordie! This being the case and us having trekked north on the odd occasion, yes I've seen the Angel of the North up close and personal, as you might say. Not sure I'd agree about it being beautiful, but it is impressive.
      
      Not being rude at all sir, the angel is of course a headstone and the proper spelling of the inhabitant is indeed 'Priscilla'. A feeble attempt at a play on words on my part. I'm reasonably sure Priscilla Presley sang a rather poor version of 'My Special Angel' but I much preferred the Connie Francis version, so pre-cilla. (I know I know, bloody old fool's off again!)
      
      With regards the last bit: I'm afraid not. I am aware of the Sisters of Mercy (not Leonard Cohen on this occasion) but that's about all.
