Joseph Frank Keaton Jr. known by his professional name as Buster Keaton, was a popular and influential American silent-film comic actor and filmmaker. His trademark was physical comedy with a stoic, deadpan expression on his face, earning him the nickname "The Great Stone Face".
His work as a performer and director is widely regarded to be some of the most innovative and important work in the history of cinema.

yes....they were....always used to watch them on the telly...though with Laurel and Hardy I could hardly bear it when they made a huge mess or got really hurt!!

They really did hurt themselves from time to time too; Harold Lloyd lost a finger in one of his stunts.

Pro I can't remember what it was called, but Bob was a big fan of the silents and showed clips from various old movies and talked about the people involved. The show must have run for four or five seasons and is probably where I found out the stuff I know.
aahh....I missed that then. It was a whole different era, the silent era....so different.Glad I caught some of it.

Pro A gentler time in many respects, except for the bloody war of course. People's asperations and expectations were so much lower than ours are today.

My dad is a Buster Keaton fan and has some of his DVDs. I have sometimes watched with my dad. I liked this clip, don't think I have seen it before. The bit with the sugar made me laugh.
