Well it seems Dear Daughter has arrived all safe and sound in Yorkshire, unpacked her car and installed herself back in her digs. 
So now that my mind's at rest I think it's time I slipped away into the kitchen and did something about cooking up some dinner. A man's gotta eat hasn't he?

Like most parents I just needed to know she was safe, so yes a relief. I can't be like those who just their kids get on with whatever without a care in the world.

Hope your meal was good.
You had your sprog home a lot longer than hubby here did. I was absent anyway; we met up for about 3 hours before I went!
She'll be back soon, mid January, just a quick visit we are told, following end of semester exams. What will be done with the rest of the fortnight, is anyones guess.

Pro I curried some beef; lots of chillies since Daughter doesn't like hot & spicey and I'd missed my usual added zip while she was home. It turned out rather well even if I say so myself.
Do I assume from your comment said sprog made light use of your hotel services? Hope there was real quality in the three hours you managed to catch.
Thanks, yes, fingers crossed now. We'll be meeting up at the end of the semester too, although Daughter doesn't know that yet.

Yes- quite light use of hotel services.
She provided an Xmas meal for her granny on the day - curried lamb! Thereby hangs a tale. The recipe book hubby brought in will be out of situ very shortly, it was hopeless. Tried and trusted Madhur Jaffrey wasn't touched.
