If it involves breathlessness and geometric shapes, then its probably caused by oxygen/CO2 imbalance in the the bloodstream. This can be caused by snoring or other breathing disorders during sleep. Are the shapes in colour?
I have experienced similar dreams, but after several sleep-studies at the local hospital, have got it under control. Mine is caused by weak breathing resulting from the late effects of childhood polio.
Do you suffer from excess tiredness or sudden attacks of fatigue during the day?-

PS: The feeling of being trapped is almost always due to breathlessness - In the same circumstances, I get a feeling of claustrophobia.

How interesting: I had polio too, back in 1955...
Well if drowning classes as breathlessness, then yep. Downward spirals/inverted cones/vortexes, falling, drowning.... all kinds of weird stuff.

I assume you are aware of the condition known as PPS (Post Polio Syndrome) or LEP (Late Effects of Polio)?
If not I sugges you might find it useful to look here LPPN

It might be useful to consider what matters are occupying your mind during daylight hours.
Is there something in particular that worries/frightens/angers you on a regular basis?
If there is it's likely to be connected to what you're dreaming.

Oh lord, how long have you got?
Lots of things anger me, quite a few frighten me and some worry me. I'll give it some in depth thought.
Had I been eating a nice lump of blue stilton washed down with a glass or several of nice port I'd have fully understood last night's bedroom fiasco...
