An excellent win in Sydney this morning to take the Commonwealth Bank Series and restore some pride in British cricket; well done England.
This is England’s first major overseas one-day tournament win since 1997, so it’s been a long time coming.
England scored 246-8 (50 overs) to beat Australia 152-8 (27 overs) by 34 runs. The match was eventually abandoned due to rain.

Pro Indeed. I was starting to wonder if things would ever get any better when England lost to New Zealand, but this has been a most welcome recovery.

an excellent recovery but possibly only enough to give us false hope for the forthcoming tournament?

Pro I certainly won't be holding my breath. I'd like to think England can at least figure in the final round though.

Pro Pity they couldnt' do that for the Ashes or does it take them this long to warm up

Pro God's teeth, that'd be the longest warm-up on record! 
A very different game of course and one that suits players of a different temperament.
It is a shame about the Ashes, but to be fair holding on to tham was always going to be a big ask in Australia.

Pro There did apear to be a distinct lack of backbone didn't there. Some very sorry performances, both individually and as a team.

Pro Well they certainly looked as though they had given up from day one and yes it was very lack lustre
