Oh I'm not at all sure about that: there are little patches of these that have self seeded in my garden. They're quite tiny and are pale blue, but I have nothing to compare them with...

Cool!!
I have some piccies of them too - but they are awkward little swines to snap - they look all blue and lovely, but for some reason, my pics come out a bit second rate. Think its getting the balance of depth of field and sharpness, bokeh..
good job

I like all the flower pics but this is my favourite. I love the colours and because it is so close up it doesn't really look like a forget me not!

Ummmm....
If it doesn't look like a forget-me-not, what does it look like?

I think it's something to do with the scale. When I first looked at it, I assumed they were large. Not that I can name any large blue flowers!

I must admit they do look a tad different at this scale - mind you, you should see my original, uncompressed, file!

That's obviously a wood Forget-me-not (Myosotis sylvatica)

Which is larger than the Field forget-me-not and the wild precursor of the garden variety. It is roughly hairy, with sky-blue flowers that are more or less flat (whereas those of the field species are saucer-shaped). An untidy plant as it goes to seed. Quite common in woods and shady hedge-banks and as a garden escape.
