Isn’t it amazing how much difference a couple of little white tablets can make to the way a body feels?

Anyone know who invented it?

This morning’s beautiful clear blue skies didn’t last all that long really before some fluffy bits of white cloud crept into view, but that was okay because the sun was still shining brightly and the day held lots of promise.

As the morning wore on however the clouds became more and more numerous until they built into grey and white mat blocking out the sunshine.

Eventually even the little bits of blue disappeared and those clouds became greyer and greyer; rain followed closely, which meant I had to rush off and get the washing back in from the line in the garden... bit of a bugger really because it was drying ‘tidy’ as they say down here.

I thought I might put a twist of my own on this image; a small amount of manipulation makes it far more menacing I think...

I’m really uncomfortable today. I don’t know why; I don’t think I’ve done anything to aggravate my wound, but it’s really sore and no matter whether I sit or stand I’m in pain. I’ve even considered going back to bed to see if laying down helps, but I really hate wasting my days in bed...

I had a really positive start to the day so I refuse to let this ‘set-back’ get me down, even if the sun does seem to have deserted me now. I keep reminding myself that there are countless thousands (millions?) who are worse off than me and to stop complaining; it’s not really working though...

Perhaps I’ll have another cup of coffee and take a couple of Paracetamol to try and mask the discomfort... and if that doesn’t work I might just have a glass of medicinal brandy!

It’s a really stunning morning here in my little patch of Monmouthshire; the sky is blue, the sun is shining, there’s not a breath of wind and, rather oddly, there is absolute silence...

Mornings like this one make me glad to be alive; today is the first day of the rest of my life!
