It was quite wonderful watching the clouds roll up the channel, but must have been a dismal sight for those holidaying...

Is that what you would call a lowering sky!? Atmospheric though. I always get a longing to go to the seaside in winter. Fat chance though...married to a dairy farmer in one of the most inland areas in the country.

A lowering sky,
I'd say so...
I've heard it said you're never more than 75 miles from the coast in the UK; I often drive a couple of hours to get to the beach for a good walk....

Oh beautiful Penarth! I always wanted to live there when I was growing up - in one of those white apartments overlooking the sea. I went there last year and it seemed a lot smaller than I remembered.

Penarth is only a little place; stuck in a bit of a time-warp too, but lovely in its own way. Such wonderful colours on the seafront in the rocks...
I hope my pictures of Penarth have brought back happy memories for you.

Yes I managed to stay dry; we old sailors have a bit of a knack for judging the weather.

I nipped in to a certain cafe to avoid the downpour... it came highly recommended
but I only had a coffee...
