One of my favourite shops in Chepstow is this one; Glance Back Books.
I really love this place. It has a real higgledy-piggledy feel to it as you walk through the door, but don’t be fooled. As you explore it becomes apparent there really is order among the chaos.
There are old books, postcards, maps, coins, banknotes, stamps and even car badges to attract the eye and empty the wallet. An emporium of the past... just the thing for an old dinosaur like me.

Love places like this...mind you the problem is that I am started to find things that are listed as being historical, old and curios from thee past....and i realise I had them as a kid

Pro Yes they're all a bit clinical aren't they, the new-style book shops and chains. One of the reasons I enjoy places like Hay is because of shops like this one.

If you go there again, see if you can find any old Norfolk postcards - curiously enough, the best places to find old cards from one's own county is in those furtherest away - obviously such are the sort of places postcards get sent to. 
(I'll happily recompense you for any you find at a reasonable price.)

Pro I'll certainly have a look for you Munzly. Not being a postcard buff, can you give me an idea of a reasonable price? I seem to recall the cards are individually priced.

up to about a pound (maybe two) each for good condition. I'm looking for material that would be useful in my Mardingham project, or just good historical subjects that might have a wider appeal if I put them on my www.oldnorfolk.net website (which is seriously in need of refurbishment!)

I love that type of bookshop too, they are often great for picking up old gazetteers etc that are useful for family history research
