a-Maize-ing

Is it just me or has Blogland been on a bit of a go slow the last 24 hours or so? My connection may not be the quickest in the world (2Mb Broadband) but even so I as amazed when it took almost two minutes to load the ‘edit new post page’ earlier. What's more it took half a dozen attempts to upload the image...

I would have wrapped my hand in and given up, but I really wanted to share this image with you...

I don’t know about you, but I lurve sweet corn... well corn on the cob to be more precise... I always think one of life’s pleasures is to grill corn cobs over charcoal, smother them with salted butter and grind a liberal amount of black pepper over the top, before seizing them up and biting into the sweet kernels so the butter runs down your chin... blooming marvellous... quite a-Maize-ing in fact.

No, it's not you...I'm growing old waiting for blogs to load, comments to register...and I now have five more grey hairs and at least ten more wrinkles from growling and swearing at the monitor I've got over 4mg download and it's still painfully slow...

    Grew old last night as well... Did you get a message from BCUK saying they've got probs with their datacenter and until the host has sorted it out, it will persist...seems to have improved a bit now...

        dificulties, you might experience bad performance or connection
        losses, we can not do anything about this, but to wait
        for our Hoster to resolve this issue.

I'm having trouble this morning too, I've reset the internet box, but it's still slow. Anymore of this and I'm going to have to shoot some arrows to let off steam! Ooh corn on the cob sounds lovely

  Nothing with the net as such, just Blogland. The servers seem to have been up and down like a whore's draws this morning.

My broadband connection is rated at 8mB but I've never achieved more than 5.5mB though...but this should be ample.

However, it's taken two attempts to load this page; the first attempt I could hardly read because the background was in purple...and then I noticed there wasn't a hyperlink for me to comment.

Actually for about a month now I've been experiencing problems with loading some pages on the site; most are fine, but in particular it takes an eternity to scroll through the 'latest postings' and 'my friends' postings'.

  Blogland is certainly tediously slow this morning... worse than it's been for some while I'd say.
  
  Who do you use to check your connection speed Lee? I find http://www.speedtest.net/index.php pretty accurate.

We are supposed to have "up to" 24 MB, which usually means a lot less..

This morning BCUK has really been slow and trying!

  Gosh that's superfast though... even at a lot less... my local exchange isn't capable of speeds greater than 2Mb, so I'm a bit stuck...

All I can say is I'm glad I didn't try Blog.co.uk earlier! I love sweet corn too. On the Isle of Wight, where our enthusiasm for festivals appears to know no bounds, a Sweetcorn festival joined the ever-growing list this year.

I usually switch on then visit the bathroom before sitting down. I find this relieves pressure on he brain. You may like to look up www.onspeed.co.uk it is a faster server for only £24 per year and can give you a faster broadband or dial up speed.
