More signs of Spring

What a difference in 24 hours... yesterday was such a beautiful day, but today has been blustery and extremely wet thus far... although it seems calmer just at the moment...

Look at all these wonderful little snowdrops on the bank of this reen:

Such an abundance of them... all perky and bold... bright white dots among the grren of the grass... and right where I was stood taking the photograph above was this chap here:

To many people the daffodil is the emblem of things Welsh... to me it really does mean Spring has arrived.

Daffodil has always been my favourite flower. My mum used to pick some and mix with birch twigs and it was the loveliest bouquet I could think of!

It was an awful start to the day this morning; heavy rain and strong winds - but since eleven o'clock it's been sunny here, but still windy and quite cold. I think the bad weather headed south.

By the way, my daffodils are only just showing their buds.

  The weather brightened considerably here this afternoon too.
  
  My daffs are still in bud too and look nothing like those above, but their time will come.

Don't spring flowers have a wonderful scent...I think that's such a pleasure to inhale deeply and smell Spring in the air...lovely pics...and I must keep my eyes open for the daffs...we've got banks of them along the main road where we go for the paper but can't say I've noticed any yet...too horrible to go out today so hubby's going to pick up the paper on the way to work and I'll read it tomorrow...Big hugs..

  I always think fresh flowers have a wonderful scent, but can't honestly say I've noticed spring flowers being more perfumed...

    What I meant was we've had a whole long period of autumn and winter with very few sweet smelling flowers then along comes the first of the year and they really do remind you how wonderful flower scents are...daffodils, narcissus, snowdrops, hyacinths and bluebells all smell wonderful...and my today's newspapers will be very late...tomorrow morning to be exact...HLOL...big hugs...
