There's always a squabble with some of my friends and me as to who's driving and who's admiring when we're going near or over bridges!! Particularly that one.

Allow yourself some extra time on one of your trips, park the car and walk over it... you may just bump into this old fool coming the other way.

You should... it can be a bit bracing, but it is a lovely walk.

The luxury of having a car and solitariness and some spare time is one that only comes my way once in a blue moon!!

I understand that. There must be times when it's extremely frustrating I'd have thought.

I guess so... it's odd I can't imagine being without a car now, but in reality I never bothered with one until Mrs U was pregnant and it seemed as though it would make life that bit easier... of course that is 22 years ago now!

At the moment, we don't need one, (though I could really, really do with one at the moment - it's an hour by car to the Sick parent, but usually 2-3 hours on which ever form of transport I go on, and the cheapest form doesn't have an evening return service... Luckily, sick parent is now much less sick so we've down to a once a week visit.)

That's a bit of a relief then... public transport can be less than convenient at times.

Amazing perspective and view of the bridge. Are you nervous going across it?

Not at all... there are walkways on this bridge... I often walk from Wales to England and back... which makes for a good walk.

It is an amazing structure.
Better even than - dare I say it? - the Golden Gate.
Wonderful pics, yet again.-

In many ways I prefer this bridge to the new one... it's more elegant. Not particularly well designed though. Half a blow leads to lane closures and anything worse means the whole bridge shuts.
