I posted this black & white landscape yesterday evening:
La_Spice asked if she could see the same image in colour... I'm happy to oblige, although the angle of this shot is slightly different.
Personally I prefer the drama of the monochrome image, but I'd love to hear your thoughts here folks. 
Can you tell me which of these you like and why?

I prefer monochrome - but depends on what you were trying to depict - it makes the scene look wilder and stormier.

I like both. Each one expresses a different feeling or atmosphere, but the B&W is definitely more dramatic.

I'm with all the others: B/W definitely wins on atmosphere. Did you use an IR filter?
Whatever you used, it works very well with this kind of landscape.

Pro I used a red filter Lois - works really well with B&W and blue skies.

The coloured one is nice but I prefer the first one. It looks almost unreal, magical in some way.

Seeing what Lois said it would be quite interesting in IR with all that greenery.

Pro I put it through an IR filter in Photoshop and see how it looks. Somehow though I doubt it will better the simple red lens filter.

The infrared filter in photoshop goes some way but never really recreated the pure white ghostly glow of plants and trees in a true IR shot

Pro Absolutely right... have you tried the pseudo-ir plugin from Fotomatic? It's a bit more versatile than most.

Pro I havent actually, the only IR I've taken has been through my Hoya R72 so far.

Pro I don't think you'll ever beat a 'real' filter, but as you know they can be a pain to use. Grab the plug-in from Fotomatic - it's free and can return some interesting results.

Pro I prefer the black and white image. Some time ago you told me to experiment with my (then new) camera - and I just found how to photograph in black and white and sepia. It's amazing the different atmosphere you get (all right, I know you knew this all along!).
But your B & W picture is so atmospheric, something that couldn't be achieved in colour. I suppose for me monochrome is like poetry, colour is like prose.... does that make any sense?

Pro That makes perfect sense to me Tylluan. There's a certain 'artistry' in monochrome that is lost in living colour... each have their place.
I'm glad to hear you're experimenting... long may that continue.

For me The monochrome is better it seems to enhance the sky and give the wholr peicture a more dramatic feel
