Bloggers descend on Lacock

Hello Bloggers! :wave:

Two of your number, one with their partner, went for a day out at Lacock today... and a very good day out it was too. :yes:

For those who don't know it Lacock is one of Wiltshire's most beautiful villages, but it is also the ancestral home of 'modern' photography thanks to this fine chap.

William Henry Fox Talbot (1800-77)

William Henry Fox Talbot was a gentleman scholar of considerable means and social standing, he studied both the arts and the sciences keeeping detailed notes of his endeavours.

Fox Talbot's experiments in the mid 1830s led him to discover the negative/positive photographic process, on which all modern film photography is based.

This is part of W.H.'s family pile...

I recently saw a programme about Mr Fox Talbot...very interesting it was too!

  We discussed a photo-blog meet some time ago... AJ was looking into setting something up. Sounds like an excellent idea to me.

    I hope I don't miss them then. Wasted hours yesterday and today writing a post and a comment both of which failed to post. Got tagged yesterday and spent most of the evening trying to do links, finally thought I'd succeeded and posted it only to find it ended up in draft, which doesn't seem to post. I'll get there. Everything was off-centre yesterday wasn't it? I noticed smileys were ending up on top of words and stuff. Wasn't just me was it?
