Not sure about the thousands of years bit, but the barn has been there a long, long time. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find it still standing when my 'modern' house is nowt but rubble.

Yes that does look old doesn't it? Where is that Usky?
Don't think I've ever seen anything held up by 'standing stones', doesn't look too safe to me either, but as you say, more likely to survive most of todays' builds.

The barn is tagged onto the side of an old farmhouse at Trellech. Looked solid as a rock to me.

Exactly right. I'd be surprised if this house is still standing in a couple of hundred years...

I do not know of any barns made from single stone pillars. Great pic my lovely Usk!

I only know of one other, but suspect there must be many out there waiting to be found.
Thanks Mama...

That's a mighty fine barn Usky. They built 'em good back then!

A great example of utilising local resources too.

If it hadn't already stood for thousands of years (ish) I'd say that looked remarkably unstable!!!!! I wouldn't be doing anything in that barn in a hurry
(or maybe I would - but it would be very much in a hurry!)
