I've always liked lilac... used to have two at the bottom of my garden... one white the other mauve... always gave a wonderful splash of colour.
There's a downside to them though... in an enclosed space they can easily take over... and pruning the tops seems to encourage runners to spread out from the roots, so you end up having to take counter measures... nightmare...
Beautiful plumage though...

We have lots of those in our garden as well, white and different shades of purple. I like them very much! It's only a shame that they are flowering for such a short time.
