It might be worth having a good old play with the camera you've got before investing in a new one. That said, technology has come on leaps and bounds recently.

I'll be happy to offer some advice on a future purchase when the time is right. Just let me know.

The Kodak range are decently built cameras, so you didn't do badly there. Here's a tip... don't get caught in the hunt for the biggest number of mega pixels - there are far more important factors to take into account.

Happy to help in any way I can.

I got the camera as a christmas present 2 years ago, came with a printer dock aswell, prints quality photos, just wish it had a proper 'zoom' on it! The mega pixel thing goes way over my head...too technical for me LOL
Hope fully will get a new one before my holiday(August) so can catch those special moments with the girls!! Soppy ain't i LOL xxx-

Not soppy at all... we all need our memories and photographs are a huge help in that way.

Contra-jour - the literal translation is against the day.
It means you deliberately point your camera towards the sun, which of course we all know is something you never do...

I don't see why contra-jour photography is so frowned upon. I find it makes for some interestingly emotive imagery.
Well, in my opinion anyway.
Great photo!-

I guess the technique needs to be learned so is best avoided by the absolute novice, but can produce some interesting results.
Thanks NB.
