I haven't been on a horse since then, I got too scared and also hurt myself too much to enjoy it anymore.-

I'd get off the horse, sit down and contemplate the scenery, possibly take a few piccies and then look for the nearest pub.

Well, judging by what used to happen in Pony Club days, the pony would generally put his ears back and say "bloody hell, you don't think I'm going in there do you?".
We did have one that loved swimming, and I watched nervously from the bank as mu daughter and her friend swam on horseback in a small lake! Cleaning the tack later was fun - not.-
