When we Brits talk to foreigners about Britain, I sometimes wonder what image they conjure up?
Might it be rolling hills and a very green landscape?
Or dull grey skies and sweeping rain over dark, satanic mills?
Would it be gentlemen in frock-coats and top hats and ladies in flowing gowns?
Or lager-louts throwing up in the gutters and fighting in the streets?
I suppose it might depend who you were talking to...
Not exactly a Picture of Britain I know, but I wouldn't mind betting this is the sort of image that may come to mind for many.
As much as I admire the work of Sir Charles Barry, for me Britain is better represented by the portrait of one man... or perhaps the sculpture of this long dead woman.
What would be your Picture of Britain?

, OH the famous umbrellas and rain..men always wearing umbrellas and those typical suits
Indeed i'l ask around here to tell you.

You have so many great sites in Britain, but most people seem to 'draw a line between' (not sure that is the right expression) UK and London. When I tell my friends that I am going to Britain, they say "Oh that's great! I would love to go to London too!"
(I know you once taught me how to put a link here, but I can't find it now
)
If you teach me how to put a picture in a comment, I will try to find a picture that symbolize Britain for me!
