I think this little guy is a Wave of some variety, but my knowledge of lepidoptery is scanty to say the least... anyone able to help with identification? The little beast is approximately 2cm tip to tip.

Just been looking at some and yes, it could well be. The colours seem a little pale though, unless that's a regional variation thing perhaps? A fitting name for my little friend though...
