Back in the 1830s when Newport Docks were a booming industry The Newport Dock Company extended to create The Newport Dock & Railway Company, forerunner of the Alexandra (Newport and South Wales) Docks and Railway Company.
Alexandra Docks still exist, but the dock railway has long gone leaving us with just a few reminders of its past...
I wonder how many of these little work-horses would have been employed by the dock railway at its height?

You'll find Thomas on the North Norfolk Railway, complete with face, but only on "Kids" days. Very YUK!

Pro That's a bit sad isn't it, but I dare say the little ones love seeing Thomas chuffing towards them.

Yes, they make a lot of cash out of it on those days, pays the rent so they can have proper steam enthusiast's days and rescue more locos and rolling-stock.
