The Riverfront Arts Centre (in Welsh: Glan yr afon) is the principal and newest theatre in the city of Newport, South Wales.

Located on the west bank of the River Usk on the old Bristol Packet Wharf close to the city centre The Riverfront opened on 23 October 2004.

The 21st century design of the Riverfront is clad in muted blue enamel steel which appears white against a blue sky and blue against a white sky. To continue this chameleon-like change in appearance, it is floodlit at night in ever changing colours to give it a 24 hour presence in the cityscape.

I've already poled your opinion regarding the Wave, so tell me what you think of the Riverfront...

Beautiful?
Carbuncle?
Eyesore?

I sometimes wonder if someone stood at stonehenge saying "just look at it bringing the whole area down"..

the judge of such places is if they stand the test of time!!

  I think it's hideous... but then I thought that about the Wave and that grew on me eventually... but no, I can't quite see this building at all. Is it supposed to be a ship? It's the oddest shaped ship I've ever seen if it is... I really don't know... it's just crap!

    Yeah the wave looked interesting. Maybe it's an abstract liner.. it's kind of bauhaus and kind of, well.. yup, 'shite' would cover it.
