Way past its best, but isn't the colour lovely? I wouldn't mind some of these in my garden.

So rich, is it a tulip or a poppy? I've never seen poppies that colour or tulips come to think of it...Great big hugs...XX

  It's a poppy Jen. It was growing beside a footpath in Tintern.

This pretty little thing grew in the wild? I've only seen them as a cultivated breed in gardens. Wales must be ideal for growing plants, I take it?

  Yes, it had obviously escaped from someone's garden and just found the ideal spot to make a home.
