Has anyone else noticed? Not that I'm overly bothered, but visitors to my blog seem to have dropped dramatically since I moved to the new design interface...

I'm hopeless with flowering things... is it a cornflower?

While I was crawling about taking photographs of wild strawberries the other day I found myself being jumped on from behind by a mystery assailant.

The first hit was just behind my right ear, the second on my right shoulder... my self-defence training kicked in and I rolled to the left, protecting my camera with my right arm and the fold of my gut.

Pushing from right foot and left knee I rose to face my attacker, but saw nothing.

Who was behind this and what was going on?

Slightly bemused I walked back to my car....

Approaching from the rear off-side I spotted a member from a likely suspect species...

And here the little guy is walking down my side panel:

Not exactly Bigfoot is he?

Wimbledon fortnight is almost over (sighs with relief) which is just fine with me... not being a tennis fan I find it about as enthralling as the Euro trash wendy-ball stuff we've had to endure these past weeks...

Still Wombledon's not all bad is it... there's always the strawberries!

Of course I'm not a fan of the forced, over-cultivated, all year round strawberries we find in supermarkets either...

But these little guys have a truly superb flavour and there are plenty about for the likes of me to scavenge...
