Another day and another sleepless night... okay I have things to do today so had to get up at some stage, but did I need to be wide awake at 2:00am, 3:00am, 4:00am... well, you get the picture. 
On the positive side, I've just spent an interesting hour researching prices for some new kit so at least the night hasn't been totally wasted.

I suffer from insomnia regularly; but I can't even come out here and blog when I do anymore as hormonal son is sleeping on the lounge until he fixes his caravan properly

Pro Dreamt a lot last night, but can't remember any?? Hmmm...but did sleep well as well...can't imagine not being able to sleep properly most nights...very hard on all those suffering from insomnia...maybe less stimulation before you go to bed might help?? Reading knocks me out every night....GBHs...XXX

Pro I always read last thing too, but recently I've found myself reading until the wee small hours and not resting properly at all.

Pro As soon as my eyes start to get heavy I switch off the light but must be in complete darkness otherwise I only sleep very lightly...usually I go off to sleep then within a few minutes and don't wake up until the morning...I think you can train your mind to switch off too just as you can train your mind to wake you at a particular time in the morning...really works...very strange but hubby and I can both do it...GBHs...XXX

Pro I'm certainly able to wake at a specific time, but I don't seem able to control the sleeping bit... glad to hear it works for you though.

Pro HLOL...well, it did until last night...must have been because I talked about it...had a wretched cough last night and at 1.45 I gave up and made myself a cup of tea and two biscuits and then went to sleep around 3 this morning, but haven't woken up tired so must have had a deep one when I finally got off...couldn't switch the brain off... Hope you had a better night...GBHs...XXX

Sorry to hear this, Usky. As you will see on my blog, Mr Penry also suffers from insomnia though I'm not sure his recent solution would suit everyone.

Sorry about your insomnia, though. Not sleeping leaves you so empty and without energy, I find.
Do you do sports? Maybe take up some light exercise that you can do when you're awake at night. Should make you a bit tired too if you do them regularly.

Pro Sports? At my age? Good lord girl, I'm not the bionic bloke you know!
I took a long walk yesterday followed by a hot bath and slept much better last night. There are other forms of exercise I wouldn't mind trying though.
