The hill is covered in a mix of bracken, heather and wind berry... the reddy/brown stuff is this year's bracken dying down.

Yes, I too was awake before 5.00am but didn't manage to crawl to the computer until now. None of the sites I visit first thing seem to update until 6.00am, so unless I want yesterday's news, I have to wait.
Have you ever followed up any of the cartoon strip URLs I post? Going back to episode 1 and reading them through over the last few years is an entertaining way to spend the small hours. If you want some recommendations let me know.
