These are woody nightshade, so certainly not to be played with Jen. But you're right, the majority of berries you see growing in the hedgerow should be treated with caution.

That's where the birds and bugs have picked at them. Not a good idea for us human types to experiment with members of the nightshade family though.
Good? I'm great! How're you?

Woody nightshade - is that also known as atropa belladonna?
You know, I think that when taken at a low dosage, it works as a hallucinogen. Sometimes used by daring teenagers - fatally.-

No, atropa belladonna is commonly known as Deadly Nightshade; same family, but different variety.
Woody Nightshade is a member of the Nightshade family (Solanaceae). This important plant family supplies us not only with some of our most common foods (Potato, Tomato, Green and Red Peppers, Aubergine) and other plants of economical value (Tobacco), but it also contain some of our most poisonous native plants, such as Henbane (Hyoscyamus niger). Other famous family members are Deadly Nightshade, Thornapple and Mandrake.
All parts of the Woody Nightshade are poisonous and the berries can be deadly if children eat too many of them. The scientific name Solanum dulcamara is derived from 'Solor' (meaning "I ease"), which refers to the potent medicinal properties of the plant. 'Dulcamara' derives from "bittersweet" or 'amaradulcis', as it was more correctly named in the Middle Ages.
