I've given up chasing my squirrels away, now I put daily a few peanuts in a small plant holder for them and they take them each day...the birds get their seeds, the squirrels get the nuts and some of the larger seeds as well so everybody's happy...LOL...GBHs...XXX

They always seem to win in the end, so maybe pandering to your squirrels was the sensible solution Jen.

I've also noticed recently the local cats have caught on that birds come into our garden...found one perisher sitting right by the seed tray waiting for them to arrive! This morning a Siamese cat was sitting on top of the trellis trying to think of a way of getting to them...if it's not one thing it's another with jungle preditors..LOL...GBHs...XXX

I know. It's like walking in the snow (those first foot steps on a winter morning). It's a sense of wonder and something I will never get tired of.
