I'd have to rotate the image slightly to loose the sea in the top left, but I could increase the height slightly.

You could even leave a thin edge of surf along the top, maybe even lose a bit of focus along the top?

I am boring but I agree with the others. I like the first one. It gives a feeling that the other picture lack as it only shows a little bit of the beach.

I did not mean that your photo was boring (in fact, it was a very good image), I just thought it was a bit boring to just agree with those before me!
It would have been more originally to come up with an idea of my own! But I do think the picture gets more "space" when you see the sea and the sky in the horizon.-

I like both. The first one makes it "real" - or see what LS says
The second one is "artsier" because the shapes look a bit surreal.
It all depends on what you want to achieve with the photos

I prefer the second - it really brings out the different textures in the rocks, and you can still see and appreciate the sky, just from a more unusual perspective in the reflected water.
I'd have that on my wall-

Well you did ask for opinions!
I like the first one best because the sea and sky line gives me the sense of "going" somewhere. It draws me in and gives perspective.
I can see how "proper photographers" might like the cropped version.
