The sun did eventually break through here, but like today the skies were grey and miserable yesterday morning.

We have had wonderful downpours of sweet rain filled with nitrogen all week. After a long, hot summer of drought.
I heard the garden singing it's thanks last Thursday, Everything is green again.
However, sun came out again today and, glancing at the gauge I saw 100F again.
Oh, misery me!
Have been cooped-up all summer to stay out of the heat.
Our hottest days went up to 111F here, near Houston.
Global warming?
Our pool, one week in July, went up to 95F and I started thinking of lobsters being boiled alive. That put me off and I had to go back inside!
Try having some alcohol in the evening, with that temp.
Makes you doubly hot!
So, don't think about visiting Texas in the Summer! JW xx-

One of the things we're never short of here, rain... makes my blood boil when we do get a couple of weeks of good weather and suddenly there's a hosepipe ban! What the hell happens to the 10 months worth of rain?

Always makes me smile when you see people on beach holidays... sitting in the afternoon sun and swilling booze, then wondering why the suddenly feel so peculiar!

Tar on the beach, I thought it would be more like sand. Not that hot in Scotland but not bad.
Enjoy it while is lasts. -

It's the Irish immigrants here in Wales... they'll tarmac anything!

Catch a look at my reply to Gardengirl (above)
See I'm wondering whether the term Indian Summer is really Canadian as opposed to American in origin...

Goodness! Great for sun-bathing!

BTW.....Indian Summer does not refer to the Indian sub-continent as is generally believed....but apparently originates in North America....referring to the North American Indians..... - Just 'double-checked'....
